AR will do the trick well, plus you can get faster follow up shots.

No need for a follow up shot with the 700, Ive never shot twice at the same target while hunting with it. I might use the AR since there is atleast 2 coyotes that is terrorizing their ducks.

I mounted a scope mount and scope to my M92 Rossi 38/357 lever action rifle. Used a pistol scope in place of a LER scope to save a few bucks. By adding a butt stock extension to accommodate my monkey length arms, eye relief should be fine.

Yes they do, so doesn't Smith & Wesson, which you don't like???? or is it just S&W AR's ?? There are lots of better than good 1911's out there. I traded with a member for a iver johnson hawk, which is a very nice lower end 1911.
