Had a short range trip with rtprthd this morning and got my first taste of suppressed shooting. I was impressed with the performance of it, we didn't get to take full advantage of it due to some other shooters being there but we did get a couple ear-pro free mags through it and it was awesome.
Definitely need to go back when we are the only shooters and when I'm in better health (damn bourbon).

Hangover cured by lots of coffee, does not lead to posting of target pics. Was fun though. Definitely gonna have to do it again soon.

Yeah this BB gun was her older sisters (13yo now) and I'll probably get her a .22 next Christmas.
Very cool. On a side note, is that SBR 300blk or 556?

last night assembled a Gen 2 Aero lower using a Spikes lpk. One word, butter, went together so well, no drama, no problems, easy peasy. Dropped the 10.5" 300blk upper onto the lower in pistol configuration using a RRA pistol tube. Waiting for form1 packet to show up in mailbox to make it an SBR

Last night I started packing up and charging camera and gopro batteries for the AL Sectional this weekend.

A while back, I noticed that tumbling rounds after loading to remove the case lube often leads to media getting stuck in the nose of the JHP's. While I don't think this is normally a problem, I did have an issue one time with a round not going fully into the chamber and I'm wondering if some of that media got loose. So, last night I also sorted out 500 rounds of ammo for this match that have absolutely no media in the nose of the hollow points. I don't want to take any chances at a major match.

My future ammo will not be tumbled, it will just be wiped off with a rag. Or, I'll just buy some Hornady One Shot lube, since that apparently doesn't leave any residue.

I really hate that I don't have a backup gun going into this match. Both my Freedom gun that's getting repaired, and my new Blackdog build should be done anytime, but I don't have them yet. Bobby at Freedom said he'd deliver my gun to me at the match, if the slide gets back from the finisher in time. I'm squadded with several other Open guys, so maybe one of them will let me borrow a gun if mine goes down.

Thinking about purchasing a Ruger LCRX 3", looking at it as another option for carry. I love shooting the s&w 686 I bought last summer but it's so stinking heavy to carry on a belt. Any opinions about the Ruger? My wife has a s&w 642 that's nice but I want a hammer, not a fan of the lock, plus smith doesn't offer a 3" model. I'm able to shoot daily and 9 out of 10 times I shoot whatever I'm carrying so I want something to carry that I'll enjoy shooting.

I have a LCR and a 642. Both are light and will fit in your front pocket if you don't like a holster. The LCR has a long trigger pull but you get use to it. To me the 642 has less felt recoil. I do not use the internal lock and never had a problem with the lock.

If you like pocket pistols, take a look at the SIG 938. It is a small 1911 platform and is very accurate up to 25 yards. It also has a sweet trigger out of the box and fits well in your pocket with a sticky holster.
