One of my liberal friends posted that she was ready for 4-8 years of “Mamala.” And that we would be laughing and dancing while Auntie took care of the country.

Edit: It really seemed to be a very narrow, overly optimistic, and naive view of what a Harris presidency would look like. Even though she is a super, super lefty, she is one of the few I can have a reasonable discussion with, and often she gives me a perspective that I hadn’t considered. Although we disagree politically, I do enjoy talking to her.

Like one of my friends said in 2016, “There’s a lot more people who will vote for Trump than will admit to voting for Trump.”

That being said, I do see a world in which she could win. There will always be the “I will vote for her solely because she is a woman” crowd that just likes the idea of it, and there are a lot more people now who are put off by Trump’s conviction. Honestly, the former prosecutor vs the convicted felon is a pretty powerful contrast. Add to that the constant manipulation to hate the guy by the media and he’s a lot more vulnerable than I would like.

The Jewish thing I can't speak to. I do remember a video Ben Shapiro put out about 10 years ago that allegedly explained why American Jews leaned left but I don't remember the details. Edit: I tried to find it but couldn't.

As far as the Democrats who own guns, the ones I know are Fudds at best. Some even fall into the category of "I don't even really know why I have one." For the rest, they like to shoot, but it's not a priority compared to the rest of the Democratic platform so they would be willing to give them up. None are serious shooters. Some are serious hunters, but they don't think the government will ever come after their bolt action or lever guns.
