Thank you, I will. I didn't think there were many if any to be had, I did have a COLT SP1 for the 1st AR I bought, and should have kept it, But you know how that tune plays. lol

Yep. They say that hindsight is 20/20 vision. Unfortunately, we do not always see that clearly. BTW, I love the SP1 I have. I bought it a few years ago. It is cherry condition. Looks like it was never shot. It was made in 1977.

I am pretty sure I still have some original XM16E1 issue aluminum Colt mags and i do have my issue bypod in its carrying case, might have a bayonet with scabbard also.

Care to part with any of it?
I've got a new rifle that could use some authentic accessories.

Those would be sweet to own. They would go great with my retro AR collection.

Dante, what you need is some of the older USGI Colt, Center Industries, Okay Industries, Defense Solutions, Center Industries 30-round magazines. I have a Center Industries 30-round magazine and an Okay Industries 30-round magazine I could sell you. That would get you started.

Gave that stuff from Expansion Industries a try today. This is from a 5" PPQ at 30 feet freestyle. 4.0 grains of ETR7 pushing an Extreme 125gr FP 9mm.

I think that would find the A/B ring and leave me DOWN 0. Now if I can just figure out how to do that while dangling from the monkey bars and shooting weak hand only.....

I went and did a quick look see. The bayonet and acabbard set is for an M-1, sorry, it is an early one with the button for the muzzle, I have a 3 didget "jukes box" that it belongs to. But next to that set on the shelf was an M8 scabbard, not an 8A1 an 8 it still has the 101st Arms Room paint on it, number 50. It appears that the 8 bayonet is fairly common but the scabbard is not usually found based on what popped up when I ran a search. The by-pod was where I thought it was, web gear case and all. The outside of the case has a sleeve for the original cleaning rod pieces. Now I need to look for the Colt 20 rd mags. The 30 round mags were not issue at that time as the rifle was still designated XM-16E1, X for experimental. I wrote the quarterly reports to the Pentagon on the rifle's performance, for the 101st. We had the first guns actually issued by the Army. The ones prior to our guns did not have a forward assist E1. So send me your address.

Those 20-rounders would go well with a lot of my retros, especially the 602. As for the XM16E1, they are the predecessor of the M16A1. Both were in the 603 Series. It still had the partial fence lower and "D' type stock from the 602. They added the forward assist. Also, it came with the 3-prong FH on the early version and was later changed to the A1 birdcage FH.. The early XM16E1s used the chrome BCG with serrations and was later changed to the parkerized BCG. The major differences between it and the M16A1 is the lower (M16A1 has a full fence lower), stock (M16A1 has the "E" type stock), and buffer (newer rifle buffer on the M16A1 and the "Original" Edgewater Design on the XM16E1) .

I'm building an AR pistol for my boss, so I ordered a bunch of stuff for him a couple days ago and threw in a Rock River Match 2-stage trigger for myself. I think he ordered the lower receiver yesterday, so hopefully I'll be able to build and test it next weekend.

I also finally ordered a Harris S-BRM bipod this morning and it already shipped.
