Like David Allen Coe's Perfect Country & Western Song, what options/requirements are there to the perfect Lever Action Rifle?

Now in years gone bye I've added a button compass and coffee grinder into the butt stock of a Marlin Lever Action. Why not a Winchester? Sleet/frozen ice storms can get into the open top and jam the mechanism. So let's start with a solid top Marlin Lever Action.

The perfect lever gun (to me) is the Winchester 1886, and by extension (since they're pretty much the same design) the 1892. Bombproof actions chambered in serious business rounds, designed by JMB himself. Can't beat em.

Wouldn't worry much about the open top - the Russians loved their 1895s and they got down n dirty in the trenches with them.

Sorry, witnessed several Open top Winchesters actually failing to function during a Maine Sleet Storm. Even the beloved .348 Model 71.

So a closed top is going to be a must for the "Perfect Lever Action".

What kind of idiot is out in a sleet storm shooting?

    ...

    Side load "and" tube load
    Threaded barrel for a suppressor
    Stainless steel
    Weather resistant furniture
A scope rail that allows the irons to still be used

    Suppressor?
Scope on a lever action? How do you maintain a proper cheek weld?
How about a Tang Mount or Williams Peep?

Stainless steel & weather resistant furniture, I can buy that.

Marlin had one with all this, it was stainless. It is out of production so, not living in Maine, I went with the Rossi R92 Triple Black .357 Mag.

Yup, just how do you think your going to make a Cup of Joe without a coffee grinder?
By; A) grinding the beans before going out, or B) using a good insulated container for to go coffee that will keep it warm for hours while sitting in the snow on a bay in Alaska duck hunting. LOL

Whiskey is only after the rifles are in the rack! Liqueur & firearms don't mix well.
Those beans can be ground into a canteen cup and set on the fire beside a tent, they last weeks not hours. LOL.

So is it the 30-30, a pistol cartridge, or a Big Bore Chambering that we are looking for in the perfect lever action?

What about those Mag Feed Browning Levers?
