Grand Thing 1 & 2 are flying back early to ATL from the Turks & Caicos to turn around and fly to Ft Myers to watch Thing 1 pitch in a tournament there starting Thursday. They had already canceled Thursdays play. It appears they are going to cancel the rest of the tournament now as well. The hotel allowed them to cancel their reservations without penalty, but the rental car folks are going to keep $50 of their reservation. If they cancel their flight to Ft Meyers they will only get a voucher. The folks at Delta told them to wait and if they canceled the flight they would refund them. They have canceled all flights up to theirs for Thursday.

Might be a Cat 5 when it hits.

Pops is in Naples and Collier Co already has a good bit of power outage. He lives on the canals so I'm a little concerned for him with storm surge. He is raised so most of his neighbors will be packing in if it gets to 10'. PG was supposed to be down there Tues-Fri...looks like she might need to hold off.

Max sustained winds now at 155mph. Could reach Cat 5 by landfall. Only need 2 more mph to reach Cat 5.

At the angle that storm is going in Punta Gorda at the end of that bay might be in for a huge storm surge. That whole area is gong to be devastated!

Appreciate the thread brother. Right here in Lee County Fl. Been tying down and chaining down stuff all week. Got plenty of food cooked and prepared and hunkered down. Grew up in Etowah county Alabama, this is sorta like a tornado there. Just bigger. Stay safe yall.

He'll be like the couple in Coral Gables who "rode out" Andrew in their house, treading water in the living room with the water up a couple feet from the ceiling, when the wife saw something moving outside the window and said to her husband "Look! There goes the dinghy!" : )

I went through Charlie - no gas, electricity, or water for 2 weeks. It sucked!

I always had enough gas to get out of the state after that.

Oh Boy! Water is over the seawall in the back of the house (canal) street is flooded and up to the tires on his 4 Runner in the drive...high tide in 1 hour in Naples

I saw a picture earlier of charlie. Whole storm fits in the eye of Ian with room to spare.
