    >putin wont bend over to gays

Okay, but why is he invading a sovereign nation, and why are conservatives, who formerly hated the soviets, now want to bend over backwards for them?

    Food for thought
    I could write a book in response : )

Fair enough, i was just commenting on that topic specifically, and removed from the rest of the conversation.
I agree the person in the seat has the last call. But He was likely focused on the Lead and #2 he was trailing, as he was #3 in a formation. Tragic what happened that day.

ill watch that later and get back to you. The best defense is a strong offense. Many of those interventions are 100% justified on moral grounds alone, let alone the benefit provided to the US.

Perhaps intervention means not having to fight War on your own soil. We took the 911 raids so we'll. But since the 20th Century we have attempted to believe that the Oceans allowed US isolation from the rest of humanity, perhaps it is best that we stick our heads in the ground and believe that what happens over there stays over there! It's worked so well in the past? LOL.

I would argue the 9/11 raids occurred because of our intervention. Usama was not happy about the Saudi's letting the Nato Armies use it to stage a war against Iraq. That is why he and others started attacking our assists, embassy, barracks and the Cole bombings. The Saudi's banished him from the Kingdom because of his opposition to our presence. That is when he ended up in Sudan and then chased out of there to Afghanistan then Pakistan.

I guess what I am getting at is our intervention, came back on us. I'd argue that had we not stopped Saddam from invading Kuwait in 1991, 9/11 would not have happened.

It is hard to fathom the potential blow back from this current issue.

iraq had no reason to be in kuwait, and we had reason to curry favor with them.

The idea that we shouldnt stop foreign powers from exuding influence on the world is a policy of appeasement.

Oh so simple. When should we begin? Did the Hebrews put all to the sword during the invasion of Palestine? Who squatted upon that land prior to the Palestine? Should we aii abide by Sheria law, Egyptian Rule, or the singular deity of Hebrew belief? What about the beliefs of America's First Nation? What sense does it make to hold the land of our forefathers as Sacrid? Skip all the superficial stuff. Your HOME is where you hang your hat and those that lived upon the land prior to you have giving you no claim other than the workings of your own hands to try and justify. JMHO.

Saddam had his reasons. Not saying I agree with him(Saddam) and we were protecting our business investments in Kuwait. But it would be foolish not to see the connection between 9/11 and our moves military moves in the Middle East. They are directly correlated.

Idk who you think I am, but okay.

100% though technology has dramatically changed combat just in the past 20 years even, but strategic concepts of national defense remain unchanged.
Understood but you can’t tell me that technology hasn’t changed nearly everything about warfare in the past 130 years.

You have to realize that the threat of nato on the Russian border is a lot of what caused this mess. Right?

I’m pretty sure you’re the same guy,but im glad you’re back! Maybe, maybe not but “you do you”
“You do you “, does sound familiar . Hmmmmm

George SR. drew lines in the sand that matched the lines on paper maps and objectives became obviously clear. Thus the first American "VICTORY" since WWII. Yet it took a WWII VET to come up with such a simple yet brutal objective. YMMV. Just the opinion of one who performed in COMBAT.

Yes, BUT: Explain how the Taliban (for example), who were founded and funded by our "allies" in Pakistan, by the way, were going to get here in their TOYOTA PICKUPS. And we didn't invade Pakistan, but that's where we found bin Laden, so... why not?

If we didn't go into Vietnam, would our schoolchildren be wearing bamboo sandals to school now? NOPE. The actual biggest threat we face is our own open border, about which we have done nothing for decades.

REMEMBER: 9/11 was BLOWBACK from our drawing the Soviets into Afghanistan. We armed, trained, and financed bin Laden. The 9/11 hijackers were primarily Saudi, again, our "allies", and they were trained to fly right here. They also worked on the plot while in Europe, so... why blame the Afghans?

I'm as pro-defense as they come, but none of this makes any sense. It's all manipulation, which I figured out the day the Vietnam war ended. Some are just slow learners : )

Oh, I would argue the 9/11 seeds were planted much farther back than that. And yes, the blowback isn't just short-term. As I've said re: Brzezinski's "wonderful Afghan plan" (link below):

"Brzezinski thought his luring of the U.S.S.R. into Afghanistan in the late '70s was a stroke of genius... up until the day he died in 2017, apparently. After all, it may have had something to do with the eventual breakup of the Soviet Union... right?

BUT AT WHAT COST? MILLIONS of Afghans dead, 9/11, TRILLIONS spent by the U.S. on subsequent wars, THOUSANDS of American soldiers killed or maimed, the Taliban armed beyond their WILDEST DREAMS AND, even TODAY, Afghan refugees being settled in the U.S. AS WE SPEAK... over FORTY years later!"

Going to make me switch from Guinness & Proper # 12 to Baileys & Coffee on St Patties Day! It's a question of perspective. So, NAM from a WWII perspective was once again coming to the aid of the French. Yet things in the Kitty Litter began in Tehran for America. So the correlation between the two just has no merit! My perspective from the ground. WHO IS FEEDING the 911 is Blowback? The Mujahideen (Freedom Fighters against IVAN) but ground dwelling residents of AF in all cases, had one simple premise. Once IVAN withdrew then it became a question of INTERVENTION with all those needed EVILs that had been tolerated to keep the AF HOMELAND occupied by Mujahedeen vs IVAN. BLOWBACK? Hardly, assimilating the tactics of intervention to keep WAR off sovereign soil? Was it effectively executed?????. I ask this with water, electric, and sitting in my home while it still stands? Hmh....
