I picked this gun up yesterday and I'm curious what it's worth. I'm sure that I got a heck of a deal on it, but I'd like to know what to value it at if I were to ever trade it off. It's an Ithica model 51 12 gauge.
I see them sold for 150+ and listed up to 350, but they are not selling. Is it the featherlight or other distinguishing markings on it? 2 3/4 and 3", looks like several models, did you get the chokes w it?
Well I guess I did alright on it. I paid $100 for it. One of my fathers employees mother wants to sell off all of her deceased husbands guns. She has more but said they are all pistols. I might end up getting some good deals. I couldn't pass up a semi auto shotgun for $100.
I stuck my pinky in the barrel when I removed it for cleaning and I didn't feel any threads for a choke. Can someone explain it to me? This is the oldest shotgun that I own..... Maybe things were different then.
Anywhere on the barrel does it say full, IC (or improved cylinder) or Mod ? It should.
I bought an old Ithica lighweight 20 gauge from a forum member a couple of years ago for $175. It's not a particularly valuable gun but it's light as heck and just what I needed for quail hunting.
I don't remember seeing anything on the barrel indicating a choke. I just need to figure out if I can hit a flying dove with it or if I need to stick with my 870.
