Yeah I made the mistake of buying my wife a gift for Mothers Day that was firearms related. Once was all it took to learn that lesson. I still catch flak for it ten years later. Maybe yours is different. Buy her a thermal for Christmas and cover both bases. But hey, you only get plausible deniability once, so might as well make it a $5,000 thermal scope
the old : i got it for you baby, doesn't fly but once, and will be shot down even then...in a blaze of glory

I'm leaning towards something half that. lol

Today I picked up some M&P mags. I just need to practice with it more.

I have 3 more deals I need to finish up this week, then it will just be reloading and hopefully some hog hunting.

I bought one of these guide rod lasers already on a G23 a few years ago. It was very nice to have, and convenient, with no worries about my favorite holster fitting the laser. I found it had the bad habit of running out of battery power in less than an hour, though, especially when accidentally squeezing the holstered gun up against my center console and activating the laser while driving around. And setting it down sideways when not in a holster can also accidently push the on button. But other than that, it was well made. I didn't cut it any slack. I traded it still on the G23 with dead batteries to an FFL for a carbine that took M9 mags, even trade! The G23 was all I had on me at the show, and the M9 mag carbine was a far more rare item! Otherwise, I'd still have that laser

Several of my Gocks have the guide rod laser. Including my hunting Glock 20. It has the green.
There are several advantages to having a laser on your HD/SD/ hunting gun. They are highly debateable so don't want to get into any tongue fights with "trainers".
I would just say this ---> find a member with installed laser, preferably green, preferably guide rod. Pay them "trainers fees" to take you out to their club, and give you a half hour workout with the gun.
    Then make your decision.
My LASERMAX was installed in my GLOCK 32 adout 5 yesrs ago. I probably have 2 hours actual RUN TIME on it. Still going strong.
Your decission. HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE AN INFORMED ONE. ---- SAWMAN

Yesterday I picked up two pending deals and got to meet some great members. This weekend I should be picking up a safe and hopefully getting my gun closet competed.

Received my steel gong target kit from https://ar500targetsolutions.com, BUT it's missing the steel cup part that holds the 2x4 to the stand base. The missing part is called a 2x4 tube. The stand legs would be bolted to it and a 2x4 inserted. Message to maker; will see what happens. It was on sale + I got the 5% military discount. Was putting it together to test at my home prior to taking it to the range.

Update: People can make mistakes. It's how you handle them that makes the difference. So far, no offer to replace the missing part, just an email saying everything should be in the box and that they are updating the assembly directions on the web site. I've now sent photos of everything that was in the box. I await the next reply.

Further update: Just received this message: "We will 2 day express the tube out tomorrow. Looking into it, we had new help on that day. Sorry for any inconveniences. FYI, I also added the instructions back online."

Traded for a FN 509 Tactical. 9mm. This is my first FN anything. All the bells and whistles. Look forward to shooting and seeing what all the fuss is about with the high end firearms. Swampfox 27mm justice, streamlight, comp. High night sights. Just handling it, dropping the mag, slide I can feel the difference between this and my normal firearms. Came with 1 17 and 2 24rd mags, two recoil spring sets, backstraps and a real detailed instruction book. You can use ANY "rmr" on it. Full kit to fit ANY brand. Full ambi too, love it. Big thanks to Brandon for hooking me up with a great deal.
    Downer, no 2nd strike capability....

They have a great website. For a really small business. But hey, Brownell's got started with the kids (free child labor) repackaging mail order ammo while sitting around the house, too.

Picked up a safe with a buddy and got it in place. Loading it up will be the chore for tomorrow after my last pending meetup.
