Damn, putting that new press to work.

Yup. Over 3000 rounds since I got it a few weeks ago. I finally took it off the bench yesterday afternoon, to make room for a few other upcoming projects. I figure I'll mount it back up in a few weeks and crank out some more.

Is the powder you use pretty easy to come by now? Or still being bought up everywhere?

I'm currently using Clays, which can be a little hard to find. I bought 2-8lb jugs a couple months ago when I found it in stock. If I wasn't using Clays, I'd be using Titegroup, which is pretty easy to find these days.

Hauled a PU load of reloading supplies and shot shells to the new reloading room. Measured the 458 Lott barrel for a barrel mounted sling swivel. Now all I need is a 1.15 inch barrel loop. :) Perhaps New England has one.

This morning, I ordered the new upper from Windham Weaponry for my basic M16A4 clone. Afterwards, I went ahead and built the lower assembly. I still need to order an A2 lightweight CAR upper for another build. I did order the CAR fiberlite stock from Model 1 Sales and I just got a shipping notification from them.

I had ordered 500 125 gr. 9mm from Palmetto Projectiles last Nov.21 but had a lot of stuff going on that kept me from getting back into reloading. It took me almost 6 months to get everything set up to reload using cast bullets but I finally had it all together and was ready to get started or so I thought until I finally opened the package of 500 125 gr. 9mm coated bullets only to find they had sent me 203 gr. 30 caliber for 300 Blackout. I just sent the company and email letting them know how dissatisfied I was and am now waiting to hear back. Not real sure how they will respond as I really should have opened the package when I first received it last Nov. but if they don't won't to exchange them I will have some polymer coated cast 300 Blackout for sale. If I sell them I will post in the Ammunition and Reloading Sales thread

Today, I thought about making the giant shoot n see for the 300, but then I didn't get to go by Office Depot since I had to pick up a sick kid from school early. Maybe tomorrow. I also need to grab name tags while I'm there for the next idpa, which is Sunday IIRC.

Just ordered some more ammo and took delivery of some more. That seems to be a steady thing these days. Also mounted a Nikon scope on my LR-308. Got rid of the big heavy scope that was on there and put this one on there. Has lightened it a bit!

Work hasn't been allowing much gun time here lately but I was able to get some trigger time in running some pistol drills. Thanks to the holster guru, I was able to shoot the Dot Torture and other timed drills to work on draw, sight acquisition, and follow up shots. Definitely going to be putting in some dry fire and range time in prep for the steel match in Dothan in a couple weeks. Also, props to Nate with Little Jacks Guns, the guy is first class and patient with my indecision on my AR build...but we're getting there.

    Gun time? Trigger time?

I opened my safe and fondled a few just to make sure that I remembered what it feels like.

Today, for the first time ever, I ordered a 1911 built from scratch to my specs. I am too excited for words, it's gonna be SWEET!

Really though, I've come to realize exactly what I like and don't like, and I dump stuff if there's something that bugs me about it, minute as it may be. My rifles, for instance, are perfect, because they were built specifically to my specs, and I love them. I've been taking about this specific pistol build for over a year, and it has finally come time to pull the trigger. Oddly enough, the only thing that has changed since my first quote (over a year ago) is the color of the frame, and as fickle as I am, that really says something. Haha.
It'll also make for a sweet USPSA Limited 10 gun. Basically a black over gray bull barrel rail gun, with all the rounding, fluting crowning and flushing that I like. This 1911 should come in at over 50 ounces loaded.

I like the fluted chamber option. Whats the delivery time?
I love fluting as well. I'll send my Bobtail to get done as soon as this comes in.
Lately I've seen guns delivered as quickly as 6 weeks, but the rep is saying it could be up to 4 months. Just gonna set it and forget it, or at least try. Lol.
