All depends on if you’re talking about quality control or a company as a whole and customer service. I know Wilson combat has all three and a top company in todays market in my personal opinion. A lot of company’s are lack luster in quality control.Once upon a time you had Colt Pythons and Winchester Controlled round feed bolt actions, but what are today's top firearms?

Never owned a Smith and Wesson e series but as far as quality the Wilson is hand fitted. I have a Les Baer and it’s the best gun I own and the best shooter I have so.So does a Wilson Combat 1911 outshine say a S&W E-series 1911? Or is it Wilson Combats AR products that folks consider Top of the line nowadays? Glocks are always lauded as reliable, but are they one of today's Top Firearms?

L A SWAT almost singlehandedly started a cult following for the Glock 17L, perhaps that lead to the development of the G34? For a long time Colt had a cult following on 1911's and AR-15's, but I don't know that the following is very strong nowadays?
Colts quality is garbage now. Their CR serial numbers are literally worse than pretty much any budget AR. As to their 1911s, quality is just ok but the prices for them are ridiculously high...
I agree with g-rat. Colts quality have went downhill. I had a couple of colt 1911s and gotten rid of them. Now the new pythons and anacondas I like. But tried and true quality of firearms aren’t what they used to be. I’d rather buy an old smith vs a new model smith revolver any day of the week. But people are going to buy what they like and everyone’s opinions vary.
I’ve wanted to get one of the new pythons in 3 inch. I had the anaconda in a 6 but sold it without shooting it as I had some other stuff happen at the time.I won’t buy a new Smith with the internal lock. They don’t hafta do that. They caved to Clinton.
I’ve got one of the new Pythons and it’s a good gun. That was the first current production gun I’ve wanted in a long time.

Good quality depending on which one you get. Had a vigil commander in 9mm with aluminum frame and didn’t care for it. But I love my specialist commander in 45. It’s a sweet shooter. My brother has the commander classic bobtail and it’s one of his go to carry gunsHow do the Dan Wesson's Stack up nowadays?
