Backstory.
Was given to a gentleman for retiring the police force in 1981. I'd say somewhere in or around Indiana.
Guy I got it from received it from the widow.
She told him they never bought a shell for it. The gun has never been apart.
12ga, smooth bore, rifle sight. Also came with what looks to be an unfired 28" fixed mod barrel, though it has been in a receiver at some point in its life. has slight mark on the bluing where it sits in the receiver.
One of those things you may never see again so I jumped on it.
There is not one pit or spec of rust anywhere on anything. Truly amazing for a 40+ year old gun.
I'd like to see when the bird barrel was produced if it matches the year of the gun but I'm having a little trouble with Remington's codes.
It is an REP(circled) labeled barrel.
HW W K on the barrel.
The bluing on everything will just have you staring. It looks wet.
