I'm sure some of you guys know this already but if you mix old diesel and oil and then spray it on untreated wood it will keep the termites and other bugs out of the wood. It also acts as a good stain. The old man who owns the property I hunt on uses this to treat the wood on all his out buildings at the hunting camp.

Coincidentally I called a used oil recovery service Tuesday to empty my 55 gallon drum of old oil. They were supposed to come yesterday but didn't make it unless they slipped in while I was gone. I'll check it here in a minute and see if is still full. Call me this morning and I'll let you know. If you want it I'll find a drum pump to pull it out.

So does it have to be old Diesel or can it be fresh? Will this deter wood drilling carpenter bee's.

Fresh diesel is fine, pretty sure it does deter the wood bees. I don't see them flying around any of the structures that have been treated with the oil and diesel mix. I'll take a closer look next time up.

As long as I can still find Jameson and ginger ale , life is okay.

Never tried that combination. The Glen on rocks for me. I do have some ginger ale so might give it a shot.

The wife & I celebrated 33 years of wedding bliss last night. Went to Beau Rivage to see:

Lots of grey hair, old silicone and scooter chairs.
