I wonder how hard it would be to get an SKS to shoot 300BO... or even 6.8 or 6.5Yea, your basic carbine AR15 with a little bit of training can go a long ways.
And then you have 300BO that was optimized for use in a 8.5" barrel...
At this moment in time think possibly 10 x's that price. I do not think that Biden will get his assault weapon bills passed.I remember my dad picking up one for about $80. how much are they going for now?
He's on record being responsible for getting it passed before. I'm not holding my breathAt this moment in time think possibly 10 x's that price. I do not think that Biden will get his assault weapon bills passed.
Biden may take the credit but it was bill clinton that did the arm twisting where it was needed. Of the future it is unpredictable, but so far the best that Biden has come up with are executive actions and not executive orders. He certainly can hurt us no matter what, but for now not a much as he would like. He's on record being responsible for getting it passed before. I'm not holding my breath
I'll admit it, I had a Russian rifle crate coffee table. The wife hated it! We made it into a toy box, too. Then it got dissapeared. She wasn't having it. Maybe if I'd had less of a man- house and more of a man-cave then she'd have stuck around. If you have a wife count your blessings you didnt get the crate coffee tableI too paid $75 but I bought mine from the original owner who never got the cosmoline off.
Regretting now not buying a crate. Saw some crates made into coffee tables. They were way more money than I could pay. Seems small now.
The SKS is a military grade rifle, the Mini-30 is not.I started this topic about buying the SKS for $349, I’ve since sold it for $500. Just never been that fond of them, also recently sold a Russian SKS for $650. No more plans of owning another one unless I stumbled up on a cheap one just to resale, I like the 7.62x39 bullet very much though, I’ve got a Ruger Mini 30 chambered in that round...
Mike's, on Hwy 29, this past year sold a mint Russian SKS for $1200. That same week I was calling around and price checking Russians, I found a Russian SKS in Milton hanging on a wall for only $450, sporterized with an aftermarket sling swivel in the wood stock. Prices are all over the map. There's two things for certain. One is that the federal government is scared of them and it isn't letting any more Russians or Norincos into the country. (side note: they're not really scared of SKS's, they're scared of us. "Gun" control is actually "you" control) The second is that nobody will ever make a new US production SKS at a price point low enough to compete on the open market. So the price is just going to keep going up for surplus SKS's. To manufacture from scratch and sale a new US made SKS for profit would put the sticker price upwards of $1,500, just like every other new copy of a battle rifle from that time period. But man, I'd be the first in line for one! The Russians are making American made Russian AK's here now to get past import restrictions, so the American made SKS is coming, sooner or laterI started this topic about buying the SKS for $349, I’ve since sold it for $500. When they hit the $1500 mark, look for Palmetto State Armory to manufacture in house and sell them, just like thier American made AK which is surviving RobSki’s (AKOU) AK torture test at over 5k rounds now...Mike's, on Hwy 29, this past year sold a mint Russian SKS for $1200. I forgot to mention my Paratrooper SKS has a muzzle brake and a MFT stock... and maybe a few other things I've forgotten too. Paratrooper SKS's are bad to the boneHey Raven, I like the Ruger mini 30 chambered in 7.62x39 way better than an SKS so don’t knock it, could care less about military grade. I know a lady that has an SKS that belonged to her husband, when her husband bought it about 30 years ago I’d never seen another one like it then or since, he said it was a paratrooper version, it’s a shorter length barrel and stock from what I can remember. It is very cool looking. She might have a gold nugget and not know it.
