I was the driver, in our group in the 60s, so stayed reasonably sober on trips to no further than 50 miles from Campbell. Like Evansville, St. Louis, Nashville, etc, In 1966 I was running a 63 Impala white with red leather interior SS with a 350, a bored and stroked 327 with 2 fours dual exhaust, cut outs and four on the floor. had a Lear Jet 8 track for driving music. Pulled out the main gate at Campbell going north and a long haired pretty blond in a new brigh red Ford Galaxy 500 convertible, top down, passed me as I pulled out. I caught up to her in about ten seconds and away we went to Hopstown, full out. That was where the State police cough up to both of us at the first red light, still side by side. Undeternible amount of speed, read the tickets.Went to jail on that one. KY Staties did frown on 120+ on the road.
This song reminds me of that event, a good driving song.
