Been using mini mags for years. Just wondering if there's something better. Looking for - Small, belt holster, led, bright. AA batts.
$$ is a factor due to possibility of dropping overboard.

my EDC is an Olight Baton 3 ultra compact...rechargeable (good battery life), magnetic base with a pocket clip, is lockable so it doesn't come on in your pocket and 1200 lumens I think. I clip it in my watch pocket.

mini mags laying all over around here btw

Always had good luck with Streamlight and Fenix. Amazon is your friend.
Truth be told I also snag the chepo (battery powered) at Sams, Tractor Supply, etc. As long as they are ~1000 lumens, I stash them around the hacienda for whatever need may srise

My edc light is a streamlight protac 1L-1AA. Not the brightest. But bright enough for the spaces or distances used. Uses cr123 or AA. It will also work with AAA in a pinch.

Why not a hard hat mounted light. You know you have to wear it all the time, right? Something light and cast a good light? Both hands free and less likely to drop it? I know you've seen them. LEDs are all pretty good now days.

Nitecore or OLight are good ones but ccp. I like the rechargeable. However, I would probably recommend buying Surefire or Streamlight. Both made in USA.

I have the wedge and like it. But out on the boat at night, I use

WdtPro Rechargeable Flashlights High Lumens, 2 Pack 10H Long Lasting Super Bright EDC Flashlight, LED Mini Tactical Flash Lights for Camping Emergency, Drop & Water Resistant (Battery Included)

from Amazon. $15.99 for two. I can buy a LOT of these to replace one lost Wedge...

I usually don't go for rechargeables (this one's not an integral or proprietary battery, though... I think it's a 18650), but this one can't be beat: 1 Lumen through 2000 Lumens (1, 10, 80, 300, 800, and 2000 settings), Strobe, Beacon, SOS:

P.S., Don't mess up and order the SC31 Pro unless you want to end up with instructions like this (i.e., the Pro has an Anduril 2 Operating System !):

I got a couple of these when they were on sale. I use them pretty much everyday when the wife and I go on our early morning walks.

I like the 3 pack from Sam’s for $20. Nice & bright but they use AAA.

Used this as an LEO, it's a workhorse!
The Battery is rechargeable, and charging cable comes with it.

    Good choice.
I’ve got a couple of those I keep in my safe for additional lighting.

Great recommendations here. I'm in the market for a new rechargeable light, and I'm checking out Amazon. The one I'm replacing is the key chain light that's on the gadget rack at AutoZone. That was not a bad light at all, and it went 2 1/2 years before it bit the dust.
