Yeah, it has several "downsides". The .355" bullet thing is one. Bullet availability for the higher speeds is another. Shot in a longer bbl bolt or single vs a 16" AR makes it a little better also.
Another over hyped newer chambering. NOT for me. --- SAWMAN

No point in owning one unless you live in Michigan.

So who's in the woods this beautiful morning? I figure with the rain moving in tonight maybe the deer would be moving today but here stuck at work, good luck to any of those out in the woods this morning!

A small folding chair and a BIPOD (not tripod),you can move about the club, set up/take down is quick, and with practice, this system is almost as accurate as bench and bag. Come over one day and I will show ya the way to "enlightenment".
OR - -> just roll that bbl all over the club. ---- SAWMAN

I didn’t see anything this morning. Not even a squirrel
Same here, heard 17 shots from 1600 till dark. Buddy of mine got a huge 8pt. Of course he shoots out of a 35 foot tower with a 270 BAR. He could be coming out of the outhouse and get a deer, lol He's 72 and if had put a notch on that rifle for everyone he's kilt there would not be a spot left. He's had that rifle since 78'
Tomorrow should be interesting, embrace the suck.( meaning it's gonna be a shit day just deal with it) only 2 days left, I'm almost relieved. The Bride beat me again.

I decided to end the season today, weather looked like it was going to be bad the last two days. Plus today and yesterday were not very productive. Plenty of them moving at night on camera, don't think the rut really turned on in our area yet. Just started seeing deer with busted up horns in the last two weeks, up until then we still had bucks on camera together. Got two decent bucks this year, but none chasing.

Did you put a set of shoulder straps on that blue barrel yet.
You know James,if you want your hunt more "challenging", I can give you a new, thick walled, steel drum.
Drill and tap it,then install a single point carbine sling. Carry in front like a carbine. When you sit down it automatically falls in front, ready to use.

Thinking about getting a 28" Pro Hunter bbl chambered in 243Win for my Encore . . . JUST to see what it is capeable of in the vel dept. I believe that they are 9 or 10 twist which would be good for me for the hyper vels that I would try for.
Could even mod some 55/58grainers down about another 5-8grs or so. Being 28 inches it would be interesting to see how the heavy weight (100gr+) VLD bullets would shoot and at what speeds. ---- SAWMAN
