Yes, but it is removable. They are excellent, well made uppers but need an H3 buffer to smooth out the recoil impulse.

Group below was 50 yards (on elbows) with a two moa red dot.

My buddy snatched up the 12.5 after shooting mine. Be prepared to spend a good half hour scrubbing it down before you shoot it. The preservative they use is like cosmoline.

Bca side charger. Love mine, no bugs. Bought the enhanced firing pin but did not need it.
If you did not need it, something may be out of spec. On both BCA uppers in that chambering that I have handled, both needed the longer firing pin. The extra strength hammer spring was needed also. I am using steel case berdan cartridges.

Shot about 5 different brands thru it. I remembered your issues with them. Only had 3 fail to fire. Hit pretty hard but did not fire. Using sig lower. Tiger was the best.

What size buffer are you running in your x39? I have a regular bca lower using the carbine buffer and it runs reliable. I was wondering if I could smooth it out a bit with an h2 or h3

I went H3 in carbine barrel length. Problems was with no wt in the buffer, magazines with weaker springs would feed two rounds at a time causing horrible jams. Put in the heavier buffer and all was good, but some recoil in both directions as the bolt slams forward, to the point when I put in a lighter trigger, loose hold on the weapon bumped fired it. I will get a gas tube with a valve on and dial it down.

I meant to say upper above, thanks for not hammering me. I think I'll pick up an h2 or h3. I've noticed my x39 has a fairly violent action so if I could soften it up a little that is my intention. It has worked flawlessly for 1k maybe even 1500 rounds tho so idk if I want to tinker with it. I have a linear comp I've been meaning to put on but haven't had time to properly get the birdcage off but that's not the same as tinkering with the timing. What do yall sight at with the x39 round? I do 50 yards and 200 with 556 but I hear all kinds of things with x39

The wolf pack is growing. Been playing with buffers a bit, picked up a very strange extra heavy buffer off CDNN ($19.99) It's a DPMS with a floating cap. Paired with a standard carbine length buffer spring and one of the Ebay knockoff Surefire Pro Comps the gun shoots incredibly flat and the ejection is right around 3-4 o clock based off the ammo used The piston "push" is still there but its controllable. Aside from a FTE on one of the 12.5s during the first 5 rounds fired, no issues. I have roughly 240 rounds through the 16 and about 120 through one of the 12.5s. I'll update if I notice any carrier tilt / odd buffer tube wear.
