That might be the "vision" of the Socialists-Formerly-Known-As-DemocRats, but it will NOT be the same result.

There was a running joke when I was active-duty that all we had to do was give the 70+ year old retired vets some hardware and turn them loose on the enemy. They'd fight with skills, they'd fight Smart, they'd fight dirty, they wouldn't stop until they were mission complete, and they'd fight to the death because they had a great life, they had a deep appreciation for what they were fighting for, and they could go out swinging for a noble purpose.

I now have a deeper understanding of how true that "joke" really is.

In hindsight, the hidden beauty of that story/reality is that the current/young generation was doing the heavy-lifting and work so the older-yet-still-quite-capable generation didn't have to come back and do it. We were proud to continue the sacred duty and further to prepare the next folks to carry the baton. THAT's the American Spirit: be grateful, work hard, teach the next generation, enjoy your well-earned prosperity.

I just don't see how socialists have a chance here.

Oh they will try, though. Those selfish bastards will push the boundaries over and over...
Except the American Spirit has been broken for decades now with demorilization through the infiltration of the school system and media and entertainment industry including sports, indoctrinating the younger generations ( it has even infiltrated the Armed Forces but that calls for a whole new thread ).
Many young Americans I work with are heavily invested in handouts, not hard work.
In fact, Florida just passed a $15 minimum wage.
We are not New York, we have 0% state taxes not
8 %. What is that going to do to business and the Florida economy? Dictating a minimum wage is not the free commerce, it is socialism.
These younger generations have not been independent self-reliant business Americans who know you can't just give everyone a minimum nice salary PLUS they want all the benefits too, so they can blow their noses on cocaine and $1000 cell phones and play call of duty on a playstation and think that they can shoot.

I am sorry I am venting..

Nothing, I sure won't be shooting (or buying) much though.... the price of guns and ammo are already higher than giraffe nutz... I expect the taxes on guns and ammo to be like cigarettes are now....

I have been ordering all morning lol. Not sure if I should get 10.5 in uppers or 16 in uppers?
    I would get both.
Someone is going to want to buy one or another later on so you can 're sell.
Unless prices are high now and you will take a loss later.

Please direct me to the stores with 0% sales tax on things that are not food or medicine. In the 30+ years I've lived in Florida I haven't found one. Thanks for your help!

    Interesting you post this.
My husband just emailed me this from work:

"Microsoft propagandizing with Bing search engine
    T
he work computer uses Microsoft Edge so when I use the address bar for a search, I get a Bing search.

All Bing searches show, taking up nearly the top half of the screen, a giant electoral college map, Biden 264, Trump 314, showing Arizone as decided for Biden, Michigan and Wisconsin as decided for Biden, etc.

And of course they'll soon change that to every time you load a webpage you'll see a giant map of Biden "victory."

    What propagandists.

More than half. Here's a screenshot. I was searching for the distributor John D Walsh and this is what I get:"

I don't think you want or can be helped.
Why don't we make everything tax free. Not just state income tax but sales tax, too!
And by the way cooked food has a tax.

    1) She was referring to state income tax.
    2) It figures that you've never found a store with 0% sales tax. Here's a source: try to Earn a military ID card and then go find the BX/PX.

I'm fairly certain the armed forces do not accept retirees as recruits.

    Yes, Sir!
Sadly my sisters not only do not value my advice ( I am the oldest ), they do not heed direct warnings, they do not seek nor have the inclination to seek wisdom ( is that now even a concept? ) and when they fall on their faces from mistakes I warned about they came back not to recognize they failed to value sound advice and warnings but to bemoan about how unfair that suffering was reaped.

A huge part of our decay in society was also removing shame and consequences from those of us young and learning. Being shamed and being allowed to experience the FULL IMPACT of my actions saved me and others a lot of pain and suffering.

That is why we cannot, as a society just allow the liberals to get away with this election abuse.

It is a violation of the conscience of all citizens that are moral enough to carry out their civil duties regardless of hardship.

I don't need to be helped.
You sarcastically addressed me as "Thanks for your help".
( I am a woman, I was made as a complement, a helper to man so it is in my nature to respond to calls for help ).

Go back and read your snarly post.
I am happy to be challenged and disagreed with but I have noticed you have a tone with which you adress people here that does not earn you respect in return.

Actually, since the minimum wage is going to change the small business and the economy in FL I guess I will be buying all my guns and gun parts now before the business pass the cost to the customers.

And I wonder why a trial lawyer spent $6 million to pass this amendment:

"Orlando trial attorney John Morgan led the effort to get Amendment 2 on the ballot, investing $6 million of his own money into the initiative."
