Mounted a standard one piece scope base, so that I have the gross windage adjustment if it is needed.

Then researched the 358 Win 200 cast lad data and dd not find a 1680 load so decided a Unique load at 1,500 to 1,600 would be just the ticket to start the smoke test with on the 358 Conversion.

sent about 150 .22LR down range. I like the YoDave extra power firing pin spring. It seems to have taken most/all of the creep I was experiencing in the new straight bow Timney trigger. I almost kinda believe the factory trigger is better...at least it is more adjustable.

Watched my buddy finish up another buddy's Savage 99...couldn't find another .308 barrel so he re-chambered a 300 Savage barrel from FleaBay

Watched some vids on U Tube on praire dogs and thought .....Sure I can shoot them with the new 700BDL 30/06.
Great ! A bit sadly my older brother sent me his exact rifle as yours above . He passed about a month later . What immaculate condition and boxes of SST's I loaded him a few years prior for deer hunting .

Today’s project/goal was try to get the windage better sighted in on my Krag carbine. It’s easy to move the windage on a M1901 rear sight, but hard to make fine adjustments. Each windage mark on the sight is about 6” at 100 yards, so one has to interpret between the lines to make finer adjustments and then shoot for effect. Finally got the hits to average 1/4” off, so I quit there. Before I was only able to get hits 1/2” off. On the below target the 3 hits to the left were where I moved the sight left too much. Using a magnifying glass, move sight a nth right and shoot. Hits now average 1/4” right. Elevation is no big deal…I can make 1/2” elevation movements at 100 yards with a 03 Springfield O’Hare sight micrometer.

Here’s the carbine being cooled down. Solar generator in the background powers the fan and bbl cooler and cools me.

A little time left so let’s put on paper my Polish 1952 vintage M44 Mosin. It’d been hitting 4” to the left. The front sight is extremely tight in its base. B52 helped me move the sight a scooch to the left. It now hits 1 3/8” to right. Not bad for a Mosin lacking fine easy windage adjustments.

this might be easier to pack @Daezee

True, but in hot weather the fan cools me too. I’m a proponent of solar generators, having multiple. The one shown weighs 27 pounds so it’s not too bad to move to the shooting bench. When not being toted with me, it can be plugged into my off-grid system for additional electricity storage/capacity.
