I got 1200 pics of these four porkers in 3 days,,,,
I SMELL FRESH BACON !

They've been coming in about 5pm Frank, very wary, they smelt me & took off Tues & the smelt my footprints today & started to spook so I took a shot with the AK & hit under it I believe, too many tracks to tell which were which & no blood, went into swamp bottom that you would need a flamethrower to get thru, I'll check the camera in the morning, if she's on it, I know I missed if not gonna find a tracking dog, or alot of machete time

They do seem to stick around all night until maybe 45 mins after sunrise

Use hog or deer scent on the soles of your boots or a drag rag, let them smell that and not you, they are more sensitive to smell than anything, be down wind if you can.

Watched them put their noses into my prints & turned away from the feeder, should've took something beside the AK I guess or at least shot the cheap Russian HPs that the gun was sighted for instead of the Hornady Zombie pills, I'm betting it hits low.
Gonna go about 10 & check the camera, gonna take the machete & bugspray LOL

I keep dominate boar or sow in heat to use on the soles of my boots or a drag rag when walking in, I have had them follow the trail in due to that and spook when I don't. I have also just used the scent killers on my boots and pack but that does not work as well. When I don't have hog scent w me I use any deer scent and that works as well.

I think I have some Doe-in-Rut scent I'll try on my scent pads, I've used vanilla extract on my boots & had a buck follow it to the base of my tree, but he never looked up, waited til he gave up & headed to the corn, he didn't make it DRT LOL

Checked the camera & hacked my way into the swamp yesterday,,,,, plenty of pig sign but no blood & no pics

Yeah, we thought those 8s were big until we saw that 9. Hope he doesn't vanish when bow season opens

Yeah I have given up plots/stand deer hunting, the big bucks avoid them after season opens. I have created 10 or more stalk in woods hunting areas to at least see a whopper this year, don't care if I shoot him just want to know I could have!
