Ok there has been alot of VA bashing on here by some members (FRANK). Now that Congress has passed a bill to help vets I am really suprised that no one has commented on it.

I know it will not happen over night and it is the Gov running the program and it never works out like it should, I know Obam said he would do this ,what 6 years ago and it took people dieing and an up roar from the public to get anything done. Congress had to do something with the up comeing elections.

I have been sent to outside Dr.and it worked out fine. They double billed just like Dr do every where,You get a notice when bills are paid. But I can't say the treatment was any better, But with this program the wait times should be less and I say should because if you have to see a speculist there wait times aren't much better than the Va

Realise they pick the Dr just like some HMO do but with all the crying about how VA Dr kill people that should be a good thing for people that hate Va dr. Now you have to live more than 40 miles from a Va hospital or clinic but that includes ALOT of people if not most.

Come on Sound off about how you feel. Not really wanting to get the mud slinging started I just wondered how the Nay Sayer feel.

Since FRANK has me on ignore I won't have to hear what he thinks.

Both the VA and the Naval Hospital,Pensacola have treated me well over the years. I have spent some time in the NavHosp and the stay has always been as good as possible with an excellect staff ........ ESPECIALLY the active duty military personel.

Now that the ER has disappeared at the NavHosp I will be going to West Fla Hosp if emergency treatment is needed. I am medicare and TriCare For Life and my wife is TriCare Prime.

I am within the 40 mile limit. --- SAWMAN

It wouldn't be much fun without Frank's comments so hopefully he doesn't have me on ignore, you're welcome Snowbird!

Ryan are you with the Va or Active Mil. You said your base so I wonder if that is a Va problem.

Well Well Well, did not even know I was being talked about here!

Anyway to bring back a topic from the past is new to me but after all I have said about the VA and yes I could continue today I have to share some good news instead.

I am or was 30% service connected disabled and finally found out a secondary condition I was having problems with was also a rated disability( not going into my Medical here) I should have known 4 years ago when it popped up but I am going to stay positive here.

I went to a Veterans Service Officer in Shalimar March 15, filed the paperwork on his direct computer, was called and had a Compensation medical exam 30 days later in Pensacola Today I was notified because I logged in and checked that it was approved and the claim was settled.

Now this was a secondary to an existing condition so easier and faster than a new condition but I was impressed...90 days, the VA does nothing in 90 days typically, but I was blessed and so happy I almost cried, I did have a tear in my eye! This means more in Texas than it does in FL because TX really rewards vets better but still very good.

All I can say is Thank you TRUMP and the changes that are already being made, my prayers are for ALL Vets to get taken care of and any way I can help just call or PM!

The VA sucks. I am a Vietnam era veteran. I can't even get an ID card. They say I make too much money. I work two jobs to support my wife and myself. She has had a medical disability for over 20 years and gets 700.00 a month. I don't make six figures. What's up with that?

Well i did not go till I retired and at the beginning did not get much of anything but to see a doc. There was an income requirement then, don't think so any longer and it never treated my wife and still does not. I don't know your circumstances and I am a VietNam Vet too, but there have been changes since 2000 when I started with the VA and many issues to go through. My hope is you can check again and get some services, feel free to message me and trade #'s so we can talk.

First off, I'm glad it's working for you. But we all know every Vet has different medical issues. What works for one, may not work for another. If you were in a position to help, or knew someone who could, if you can't, I'd tell you a few things. But to keep under the radar, I will say this. Only a portion of the problem has been addressed. And of that portion, the 1/2 no-one sees/knows (except the vet), puts an unnecessary strain upon us. And it's Ludicrous how it's being done. :mad2:

It is tough,I know, but there are VSO people to help and I am ready to lead anyone in the right direction if I can and in Complete privacy. I only put what I did up tonight to let folks know things are changing, there is hope and there are people who will try to help. God Bless our Vets!

Diann's 96 year old father has good experience with VA at Jackson Mississippi just last month.
    Quick appointment for hearing test.
Man could not hear you if you screamed at him. Communication use to be by chalk board and him somewhat reading your lips.

Now, he has soft fitting hearing aids and can hear pretty good!

This old man is a cap pistol!
Still gardens and drives his tractor. Drives himself and goes fishing.
Recently killed a big rattlesnake with a hoe.
    My hero!
Was able to escort him as a Guardian with a couple other WW2 Veterans from His hometown of Waynesboro back in 2010 on a Honor Flight organized out of Dothan Alabama to visit the WW2 Memorial.
They got the WTVW Dothan channel 4 interviewer girl tickled with their antics! At Dothan airport just before we board plane.

This is another big snake he killed about 7 years ago

He doesnt bitch or whine ever.
They don't come any better than this fine man!
