I am about to grill some sirloin tip marinated in lime juice, garlic, onion, cumin, habanero powder, salt, pepper, and olive oil and cilantro. It's thin sliced, I'm going to get a cast iron skillet really hot in the egg and sear the meat. I'm making steak nachos for the Daytona 500.

your food looks great but I never use the high heat so many owners use.
the biggest reason is it wrecks the seal [ I see yours is showing the signs ]
I use a small Weber gril for high heat

these ribs were done on BGE and I will smoke Salmon probably later this week on mine and post a pic.

I hear thoese things are great, I have never tried one or eaten any food off one. How does it differ from other smokers? is it simply that it contains the heat and smoke better due to ceramic and seal?

I have had mine for 3 years and enjoy it. today I had the thermometer stick on me and my Salmon got a little hot but not that bad. was brushed with my BBQ sauce the last hour of cooking
I quickly put the fillets in foil and let them cool. really this fish will be great tomorrow when the smoke flavoring will really set in over night.
I like how you can keep the moisture inside so well and slow cook. for the really hot stuff i will continue to just use my little grill because it cooks just as good , will get just as hot and is much easier to use and clean. JMO

I think I turned Mrs Chief off of my cooking with my Pizza , what a shame because I was going to make her and Chief one of my appalachian mountain cuisine specialty's , Possum Pot Pie !

Went to Smokin' in the Square this weekend. Was some decent stuff to try. Many BGE's around, even the overpriced ones from Pinch-A-Penny.

Seeing a XL Egg next to a Large makes me want to upgrade.

This summer I'll probably pickup and XL and build a custom table to hold both my XL and Large.

I love mine. I have a medium but with 4 family members and always cooking for a group I wish I had gotten the large. If anyone wants to trade their large for my medium let me know.
