Damn. Glad I had no repairs, cuz now that I'm home I'm gonna crash for an hour or two before opening the good ol' Glenlivet.

I can't believe it. These ain't cheap windows. Wife said she heard a pop and one of the windows hit her in the back of the head. She was sitting on the love seat watching TV. For the life of me I can't figure out how they came out. There are pop locks for cleaning but it took some serious pressure to push past them. It's a bitch to hold those locks, get the window back in the track and past the frame.

Sounds like you got lucky while the wife took the brunt of it. She may need a glass of scotch!

Just don't get talked into Laphroaig. I've made that mistake. I can share a bottle of "smoky" if you want it.

Rains all gone now it's freezing with the wind howling across the 4 miles of mostly open fields to my north. Weather service says the wind is 22/mph but it sounds more like it's gusting up to 30-35/mph here on the ridge top. Use to have a wind gauge but it was a cheap one and couldn't take it, need to buy a real anemometer one of these days if I ever get enough ammo bought. Then again my brother told me 4000 rounds for every rifle, 2000 for every pistol and a 1000 rounds per shotgun if I hadn't had that canoe accident I never would of had enough ammo for his requirements but now that I'm down to 1 of each so I might get that fancy anemometer. Nope need to replace the firearms lost in the canoe accident first then worry bout the wind

24deg here in Cantonment this AM. At least little wind. Brought in a couple plants last PM to try and save them. Put the styro covers on my outside water faucets. Will go to Cracker Barrel this AM and we will sit across from the fireplace.

Bruce(Daezee)told me he was gonna bring in his goats (all 8 or 10 of them) and put them in the guest bedroom. He even changed the sheets and pillow cases to give them a "fresh start". Wondering how that is going ?? --- SAWMAN

That sure sounds like a lot of work for goats. Bruce should just buy them a nice motor home or build a condo.

    Marks,
If you had scheduled firearms insurance the policy normally covers loss of firearms in an accident and not just theft. What happened to you is fairly common with duck hunters and river travelers, hunting in small boats.

Sean I'm really looking for something I can mount outside as there is over 2 miles of open fields to my NNW and almost 4 miles of mostly open fields due north of my place with only 2 wooded areas with the one near me being in a small bottom that the wind just blows over. I've tried having a windbreak of cedars planted twice only to have tropical storm's drown them. I'm going to get something like this so I don't have to go outside to get a reading
