That’s what has me confused. Marlin started putting safeties on the 336 around 1983 but I thought the Revelation brand went away before then.

It’s possible, but the Marlins were generally finished a little better than the Mossbergs and this one looks like a Marlin.
There are actually quite a few collectors that collect re-branded firearms.
Those were great times when you could walk into a Western Auto, Montgomery Wards, Sears and even J.C. Penney and look at firearms.

The lever style safety instead of a push button safety tells me it's a Mossberg. The forearm wood overlapping the receiver instead of meeting the receiver like a Marlin is another giveaway

It is a revelation it is a store brand more than likely Western Auto but it was made by Mossberg
