Bought a single six today for my anniversary....has one cylinder and no mag. or l.r. markings, how can I tell which cal it is? The frame says 22 cal new model.

Bought it used but it's by far the cleanest USED gun I've ever had...not even a line on the cylinder

Is there any way to get a second cylinder in the other cal. fitted/timed to it?

A 22 magnum shell won't go into a LR cylinder so it you have a magnum round lying around, try it.
I lucked up a few years ago and stopped at a yard sale on the way to work. Bought a 1973 vintage like new Single Six with both cylinders in a zippered case for $150.
You can find cylinders on Gunbroker or probably E-Bay. it might fit or it might require a gunsmith to fit it.

I don't know. I'm not a gunsmith but I've read on some forums that people have bought cylinders and used them right off.
The guys over at rimfirecentral.com could tell you.

I have 2 single six's , stainless and blued. The 22mag cylinder is the only one that is marked as 22 mag. The 22lr does not have a caliber designation. So if yours has no markings it's a 22lr.

I'll have to confirm but I'm pretty sure neither of my cylinders are marked. It's a 1973 model.
