Looking for a 22lr revo. Anyone have any experience with either? I'm liking the specs of the 43c but not liking the reliability issues I keep reading about. Thanks!
The hammerless J-frame will have a stout trigger pull to set off 22LR. And being DAO, you won't be able to thumb the hammer back for a nice SA shot. I would bet the LCR 22LR would have a better pull than the S&W, but probably not by much.
Personally, I'd use a 38SPL J-frame for carry and use a Ruger Single-Six or S&W 63 3" for range plinking.
I had a S&W in .22 Mag w/o exposed hammer very easy to conceal carry.
As mentioned above, trigger is absolutely horrible. So heavy I could not shoot it well enough to depend upon. I can shot my .38 Airweight much better with low recoiling loads of course.
Maybe the model with the hammer is different.
I thought OP was asking for opinions on 22LR revolvers not 38s. I'll have to re-read to make sure I didn't miss something. If I did it wouldn't be the first time.

I am about 93% sold on the Ruger but the Smith thoughts are still lingering. Guess I'm really looking for a 43c owner to change my mind. Not interested in any other guns/calibers at this time.
I have a few S&W .22 revolvers. The all steel guns(34, 63, 17 and 617)have decent to very nice triggers but the air weights and air lites(43C and 317) triggers are atrocious. There are spring upgrades but then you have to worry about light strikes on the rimfire primmer. I have a Ruger LCR .22 that isn’t bad as far as trigger pull. The LCPII in .22 is a very nice shooter. The only thing that I have noticed with mine is that it is picky with ammo. I now use nothing but CCI mini mag 40gr round nose copper and have had no issues at all since. Hope that helps.
