Rifle sale from FL to AL resident?

Can the individual come to me in Milton and a FL FFL do a transfer to an AL resident in person? Or do I have to go to AL? I had a local shop tell me that I can just sell it to him with no transfer b/c it's a rifle....but I said hmmmmm.

Thanks, I always thought they could at least drive over here and do it but guess that is not the case. Looks like I could drive it over there in lieu of shipping it but not worth the trouble to mess with it.

if you go to an ffl they can do the transfer and the buyer of an adjacent state can take it home on a long arm
