Remington 870 pawnshop build

Last Friday was the grand opening of the new Cash America pawn on 9mile rd. the week prior to the grand opening they sent out coupons for $40 dollars off of $100. While scoping things out during their soft opening I spot an 870 express on the shelf for a little over $100. It was more than A little rough. By the time I made it up there friday it was already gone . But sitting in its place was a 870 magnum. After some haggling and my coupon I took it home for $135. It had a small amount of surface rust and the barrel and bolt face were full of lint and dust. Close as I can figure it wasput in a closet and forgotten.

I was wanting to buy a mossberg cruiser but have always been a little partial to Remingtons. I started out to just put on a Hogue tamer grip and fore arm and then call it a day. But while cruising around on ar15.com and rem870.com I spotted some of offerings by Mesa tactical. Plans changed

Next on the list are a side saddle, two round extension, barrel chop and finally duracoat or ceracoat.

Barrel on this gun is in decent shape and is a modified barrrel. I have a spare 870 express barrel that I could chop instead. Not sure which way to go.

Nice bargain. How does it shoot? I have two 870s, one is for HD and the other is for the field. I could have just swapped out barrels, but hey who does not want an extra shotgun.

I actually haven't shot this one yet, I have another 870 but wanted to leave it alone. I feel you on the can't have to many shotguns.

Cash America has some really good deals. Ive seen a LCP in there for $250 and Marlin 60 in great condition with a scope for $99.

Picked up a Mesa tactical six shell saddle for $45 one ebay, looking now for a 2 shot extension that won't break the bank.

Scored a factory remington two shot extension on ebay, sold the wood stocks for $130. Now only have the price of the aftermarket parts wrapped up in it. Trying to decide to either send the barrel off to Rosa action sports to get the barrel chopped and threaded for chokes or just get the barrel cut by Rick Rankin here local. $60 something diffrence in price.

yes they make excellent tubes !!! the extended ported turkey is the shhh....stuff:rockon:

I have cut and threaded several of our h&r barrels for them
