    My understanding is...

A reflex sight uses a multicoated lens (not clear) and a holographic sight uses clear lenses and a laser to project the reticle. Here is the link that I found on it: http://ultimak.com/UnderstandingE-sights.htm

I like my eotech with 3x magnifier, the reticle just seems to work for me. I also like my trijicon tripower's chevron reticle. Another of my favorites is my Acog with chevron reticle, very easy to shoot well with. Whether its technically a reflex or a holographic sight doesn't make much difference to me.

I'd try looking through some different optics at the gun shops and see what you like the best, especially if you are going to spend the money to get a name brand higher end aimpoint, eotech, acog etc.

Mags and ammo. Shoot it a bunch. Then decide what it needs.
