    whats the suffix?

    22641 U was made in 1981

but with just a partial serial number, without a suffix its useless to try and date

IF it was a 1960 model & chambered in 357 mag , then it could only be one of two models . Either the Python or the 357 , neither of which would have Trooper or MK III rollmarked on barrel . If a 1960 barrel would be marked either Python or 357 , as Trooper was 38 special only until 1962 . Grips are also incorrect as they're off a Python ( Gold Medallions ) & 1960 grips would be the full checkered Type 1 as shown on attached pic of my 1960 Officers Model Match .

Not according to the Colt web site I checked. I ran the serial number of my gun and it said 1960.
The Colt Trooper was made from 1953 to 1969. The Trooper Mark III superceded the previous Trooper and had a redesigned lock mechanism. It was manufactured from 1969 to 1983 in blue and nickel finish with 4-, 6-, and 8-inch barrel lengths.

So do we move this to the firearms discussion as an identification question or do we leave it as a for sale post? :)

It is in the Firearms for Sale forum, where I believe it should remain cleaned of comments not pertinent per the rules of the Forum. If any want to start a thread on Colt birthday determination, let them start one!
