Just arrived Friday. It will be my new EDC primary.
Microtech Hawk. 4" curved(Karambit) blade. This is a AUTO KNIFE.
My very first Microtech and I must say,i'm impressed. The workmanship, detail, quality and thickness of blade material.
It fires strong and locks up tight.
It has the plunge lock (button lock) system so the closed lockup is super tight, true, and precise.
Now I understand why the Microtech brand has such a following. Quality thru and thru. ----- SAWMAN

Had ProTech's,Benchmade's,other higher end auto's both OTF and OTS.
I understand the Micro Tech following now.
FOR ME - -> my EDC blade is strictly a defensive tool just like my gun. I do not use my firearm as a hammer, pry bar,or bottle opener. I do not use my blade as a apple corer, wire stripper,or box cutter. I train with it and maliciously maintain it.
Just MY well learned philosophy from people that I respected. YMMV --- SAWMAN
ADDED: IF you train with a REAL BLADE ( not a "blue blade") ALWAYS have a safety spotter near you. Especially if you practice the presentation and/or depoyment from different clothing and/or positions on your body. It is super easy to do some serious self inflected damage. Particularly with a fixed double edge.
    STAY SAFE OUT THERE.

I have an LUDT as an EDC and you cannot beat Microtech quality. I love Benchmade as well for tool knives but Microtech will come out as a backup to my firearm if ever needed!

At least they used a good steel for the blade, can't say much for the rest of the knife.

I have owned 3 and loved every one of them. Gave one to my dad and kept the other two.

What didn't you like about them?

Me....I've never owned one, therefore can't say much about the rest of the knife.

What I do know is......M390 is one heck of a Blade Steel !!!!!

    That's it. :)

Microtech changes blade material quite often. If there is a waiting period ( like my Hawk,3 months) the steel probably will change from the advertised when order placed.
The GOOD NEWS IS - - -> all blade material used by Microtech is far superior than most oher blsde makers. This is one thing that drives up the prices of their products.
The "guts" of their OTF and OTS models is another thing. Their springs, latches, guides, plungers, etc, are top of the line.
Now,in my later life,I want to get what I pay for. You do/I did in both my LWRC and my NEF Handi's. --- SAWMAN
