Don’t see no pork in here when I skimmed it. Let me know if u guys see one I’ll grab the bbq sauce.
This is not the bill in its entirety. It is only a synapsis of the intention to amend Chapter 3 of title 38, United States Code to add the ‘Office of Food Security’. It is ambiguous in the sense that this text they released has no details whatsoever about who will be heading it, how many it will employ, hiring qualifications, and, most of all, costs and how the funds are going to be distributed and to whom. You cannot support something of this nature. It is much like when they passed Obamacare. Pelosi said they will not know what is in it until they pass it. That is what has been happening in the past two years. They are voting for crap of which they have no idea what is in it or that they do know and only support it because it makes them look like they care. There is no accountability in this bill. They want to pass the amendment and then put in the details later as they see fit. Any Republican who voted for it is a fool and an idiot.

Looks like many of the representatives that voted against the bill are from the south. I wonder if that is because southerners are near the top in reading comprehension? I'd rather like to see a list of the 163 rino republicans that voted for or abstained from the pork filled, eco green, "Food Security Help for Veterans" bill. They are the ones letting the dems and the drive by media control the narrative. Is bidens "Inflation Reduction Act" going to reduce inflation? Not bloody likely. Are AR15s "weapons of war" or are they the most common semi automatic weapon in the USA? Are 30 round AR magazines "high capacity" or standard capacity? Are people that set off bombs in a crowd of innocents suicide bombers or homicide bombers? Do wind mills and EV's have a greater or less impact on the environment than say fossil fuel? ya da, ya da, ya da China controls most of the minerals needed to build wind mills and EV's. Has anyone considered where the disposal location for the $26,000, one ton battery will be? I would venture a guess but I don't want to be too obvious. The "elites" think we don't notice the psychological games they play. Let's not tell them and just vote shall we?

Tackleberry makes some really good points, he stuck to the main topic and defended his opinion very eloquently. Nobody told me we were gonna get fed when I left too, I see where he is coming from.

But what “pork filled, eco green, "Food Security Help for Veterans”” are you referring to? Can you cite where you see that in the bill?

D and R. 2 wings of the same vulture. 2 sides of the same coin. 2 cheeks of the same ass. Its a blame game for the peasants to fight and blame the puppets while the Oligarchs rule. Put the meatswords down guys. Its only us vs them.
Yep, two sides of the same bad coin. Offense and defense, but still on the same team, and their goal is to win no matter what.

President Ronald Reagan at a press conference in 1986 summarized his long-held suspicions about the effectiveness and morality of the role of government in people's lives by saying, "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'"

The VA bill has a feel good sounding label. They always do like "The Inflation Reduction Act". Who could not vote for a bill to help veterans? Food Security Help for Veterans" bill will be adding to an already bloated and ineffective bureaucracy of like minded swampy characters making it even more difficult to get help to those that need it.

The way I see this is that these Republicans read the bill in its entirety and there is more to it than the media and the Dems want you to know. To me, it seems like a wasteful office thus wasting taxpayers' dollars with not much coming from it. If a veteran has food security problems, then it may be that he/she are not employed, living off of a small VA subsistence, Medicaid, welfare, or no income whatsoever and homeless. Many of the veterans in this position are too lazy to work and living off of anything they can get from the government and some are physically unable to work due to some form of disability whether it results from injuries sustained from military service or afterwards. For those who are living on the streets by choice, they made that choice. They beg for money and often spend what they get on drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. Food is not high on their list of priorities. For those who are disabled as a result of their military service, they should have proper compensation to make sure they can have shelter, food, and clothing that is suitable and sustainable.

I see too many veterans that are "moochers" and bums. Many of these were draftees, served a couple years, and have vowed to get everything from the government they can as a means of "payback" for drafting them.

All said, we DO NOT need an office of food security within the VA. It is wasteful and not needed. I would have voted against it as well. The way I see it, those Republicans who voted for this bill are trying to make themselves look good in an election year regardless of the pork spending in the bill. There is not one good bill that has been introduced by Democrats and every bill they do introduce seems to involve creating more government and spending money this country does not have.
Agree with everything you say. I for one found that the effort it takes to apply and receive Veterans benefits was a big pain in the ass.
I found it easier to find a job and show up for work every day.

“Food security” AKA, more democrat double speak for welfare programs that steal more and more from hard working Americans that only serves to incentivize homelessness and drug addiction. And yes I know you can’t say that because this bill is supposedly targeted at veterans, but it’s the truth nonetheless.

Well it started with welfare and snap, then it went to free groceries given away at churches, and go fund me pages when someone died, free college, and health care. Whatever happened to fiscal responsibility??? How did our grandparents and great grandparents make it through this thing called life ? It is all around you, we are becoming a socialist country where the government takes care of EVERYTHING, just remember that gives them the right to make the rules, and YOU WILL OBEY !!!

I don't know how many keyboard warriors actually contact their representatives, but I do nearly weekly. I just tell them how I feel about pending legislation, national and international concerns.
I told them how I felt we should shut the government down rather than borrowing $12B and sending it to Ukraine. Matt Gaetz almost always responds.
