That’s sad truly. I put my hand up along with many others at the age of 17.
Should make a couple credits of JROTC highly incentivized for community service for every male teenager in America. Pay them like $5 a class, that'll hook them. I can think of dozens worse programs we've spent tax dollars on. Put them in uniform while they're still impressionable. Give the youths attention to detail, discipline, pride and show them that they have other career options besides student loan debt. Might work better than reinstating the draft. I've been in uniform since 14. And while it was unpaid volunteer work for 4 years, it was a lot of fun and it got me promoted right out of basic training. That’s sad truly. Agreed, I worked my way through in high school also. I was battalion commander by my 11 grade year at Tate. But even JROTC has changed. My son was in at Pace and the instructor “favored” the females so much that it put a bad taste on the young men’s mouths that most only did a few years before dropping out of it. Many still went on to joining after high school, but the program from what my son said just wasn’t as good as it could have been. At least in our case at Pace.Should make a couple credits of JROTC highly incentivized for community service for every male teenager in America. Pay them like $5 a class, that'll hook them.
