I got within 5 yds of a juvenile bald eagle that stared me down like that! I was on the river, just before Chopps Cross. In an unstable 11' canoe on open water, I was genuinely worried about being attacked and having to shoot back. I stared right back at him... but in confusion, trying to make out what kind of spotted chicken had a beak like that and a murderous stare. It wasn't until I got off the river and asked a Mainer what kind of man eating mutant spotted chickens did they have on the river out back of the town dump... did I find out that teenage bald eagles are spotted! Lmao
