Sold my house in Cantonment moved up to Milton where I have a decent spread. I set up some game cams and got lots of cool critters (deer, coyotes, etc) so I wanted something something I could scan the fields and see what was there... and to be able to shoot what I can shoot legally at night. I did a bunch of research and settled on the ATN X-Sight 4K Pro and went ahead and got with ATN Supernova light with it. I also got the ABL (add on range finder but the one I received was used when I got it so I sent it back for a new one).
I mounted it yesterday and took it out to my range at the hunting club. I shot one round at 100yds and it was about 6" high and 8" to the left. I used the one shot zero and moved the cross hairs to the POI. It's very easy on this because it leaves the existing cross hairs in place so you can align it where you originally aimed and where it hit. I hit save and took 3 more shots and they were all within 1/2" at 100yds so I was happy.
I took it hunting yesterday afternoon and didn't see any deer during the daylight. Around 6:05pm, I switched over to night vision mode and was impressed immediately with the scope. The light, not so much but it was very powerful. I did some research and found it's not very adjustable so I ordered another. I have some red lights from Wicked so I ordered their bad ass IR one that is adjustable. The scope came with one which would probably have worked fine but I didn't have it with me to test.
About 6:25pm I had a small doe that came out and she didn't have any clue that I was watching her until I accidentally knocked my drink over in the excitement.
This morning, I scanned the field before sunrise and was able to see 4 deer with ease. As you can see in the videos, the light doesn't fill the scope unless it's zoomed in about 1/2 way.
Doe is about 100 yards out. The feeder in the next video is at 200yds (uploading soon).
