Just did a Tactical Carbine class here in Pensacola, FL at Escambia River Gun Club (ERGC) - taught by Walt Wilkerson, a Gun Site instructor. Earlier this year, ERGC had Herschel Davis, another Gun Site instructor, come down for a Pistol class. Both were great classes.
Club is looking to do another class early next year, details to follow.

I'd be interested in taking some classes, I know how firearms work and how to shoot them, but I have never had any traditional training, are these types of classes geared towards someone like me?

I went to it as well. The class was a little more advanced than a beginner class. However, the bare minimum you needed was a basic knowledge of the AR15 along with firearm safety and an open mind.

I wouldn't mind seeing a shotgun class, its often that forgotten firearm.

Whenever I get around to it I'll put up pics from the carbine class.

These classes are geared more towards those with experience. Know that the assistant instructors and others are moer than willing to work with you. And you can get the experience at the Club - we have International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) twice a month, military rifle, cowboy action and other shoots. Website is ERGC.com

Hey Gravity - thanks again for the loan of the lower.

Well, I am not advanced, but I am eager to learn. Any chance of some beginner classes?

I was one of those assistants. The class was very informative, and Walt was a great instructor, but if you are looking for some beginner tips and advice we have more than a few locals that can help with that. I also feel that training is like reloading. You never want to just refer to a single manual for your information. There were a few items that i would have showed different technics, but i know that every school has different ideas of how things should be done.
I think it would be cool to have the students who attended the class to get together again to work on/practice what was learned, as well as maybe learn new technics from some of the more experienced shooters.
All that being said, there is no replacement for quality instruction, and that is just what the students received from Walt.

    Keith,
Great idea to get together and practice what we did and more. I will pass that to Mike and Larry.

    Thanks for your help,
    Jeff
