There is a new thermal sight coming out that is 3K, not as good as the 23K one but certainly adequate for our FL hunting. His reviews are coming soo so be watching.

I'm looking forward to it. Really interested in this for hog control.

ATN lost their Cabellas contract and it was offered to Armasight as were other retailers, so he only gets to keep 1, the rest will be returned, everything they have made is sold. They are trying to keep all production in the USA.

Another thermal The IR Hunter Line is interesting too as the are using the better BAE core instead of the FLIR, might want to check them out too. Not sure I can afford any of the pricing but Thermal is coming down, what was 9K is now in the 5-6K price range. The lower end units could be falling too in the next 2-6 mos. I know a ZUES that was $7500 can be had for $5500 now with the PRO Line coming out.

A buddy picked up a flir for 9k this last year. It was impressive. What's the advantage of the BAE?

Technology, it has a 12 Micron core instead of the FLIR 15, much more advanced. Clearer resolution smaller lens ability to get the same picture, it is pretty impressive with the little I have seen of it. Yeah the guys who bought last year paid full boat, they are finally coming down...but hey they got 1-2 years more hunting with thermal than the rest of us!

+1 I've had so much fun hog and coyote hunting this last year...wouldn't trade it for anything. Met some fine people and their families. Killed 7 hogs, 5 coyotes. Ate some tasty meat. Gave hog meat to several families. Helped some property owners. Had a hog try and cut me. Earned my SUS VENATOR Club patch. And probably paid more for my thermal than one would now. My 2nd thermal is due to arrive Friday, and now I'll be able to video the hunt, using my first thermal for either hand-held scanning or for loaning it to someone hunting with me. My 2nd thermal is going on my 10.5" 6.8 HogSmasher upper. I plan on having an even better year this year. Got an estimated 400+ pound boar in 2 of the areas I go to, and one of them has my name on it; the other has Sawman's name on it.
