So what is behind the shortage and crazy prices for ammo when you can find them ? I mean all ammo is still high, but it seems .410 is still really hard to find and really expensive !

I feel bad I don’t have several hundred rounds in stockpile. Recently grabbed another box. Last box I bought was 30 years ago. Think I’ll survive a 410 shortage. I just don’t shoot much of it. 12/16/20 covers me.

Right, I have 2 of the revolvers, one revolving carbine they are fussy about the rounds.

.410 has never (in my lifetime) had a big draw. It's only recently with the advent of the Taurus Judge and the S&W Governor that .410 has just fallen off the planet. However, I don't know why there should be a shortage. Demand must be the highest it's been in decades.

I never understood the .410 attraction at all, even as a youngster I would rather use the 20ga if I was concerned with recoil.
AND you could buy 2 maybe 2 1/2 boxes of 20/12 for the price of 1 box of.410 shells

My grandfather used to live right on the Sopchoppy River and he always kept a double barreled .410 by the back door (on the river side) for pests. I think I only ever saw him use it once for a moccasin that was sunning itself where he wanted to fish.

So what is current price per round?
    What's the old price/what's a good price?

It's time for me to sell off my 410 collection.

I have a nostalgic love for them. My first gun was a single shot 410. Great farm gun.

Some have odd crimps and won't go in or are hell to get out after firing.
I wonder if chamber-honing would help? Sure fixed my Winchester 1300 that had suffered neglect after firing Scarecrow cartridges (I believe they were Black Powder-powered : )

I honed with Marvel Mystery Oil, since I really didn't want another "specialty-lube" on top of the hundred I already have!

I’m the same. My shoulder after a bunch of surgeries will not let me shoot anything above a .20, but have always had a love for a .410 shotgun, from a snake charmer to a long gun. Just have always liked them
