Ok guys, I fought long and hard on keeping this one. If you have a ton of technical questions I don’t have allot of answers. So here is what I know. In my opinion the finish and blueing is not bad at all. A little wore at the end of the slide from holster wear. No pitting at all anywhere on the gun, metal is smooth as a babies butt. The gun is year 1918. It comes with an original 1918 magazine and what looks to be a military one in paper wrapping, and a Mec Gar mag. It also has a cleaning kit and what looks to be an original not a repop canvas two mag military pouch. And a newer set of grips. It is in a pristine 1943 Boyts leather shoulder holster. There also is a repop handbook and magazine article that I think is cool to have with the lot. Asking $2000 OBO. No trades on this one, cash is king.

Some of those old colts go for more than that all depends on the collector and if he. Needs that particular pistol. I would check with Rock island auction house they handle a lot of them. Gunbroker might be a good first try. I don’t doubt you will get your money for that pistol.

That is a nice looking 1911 Colt , The frame is a 1918 but I think the slide is older according to the ramp horse on back of the slide .
