Gonna share my ignorance! Having never owned an AR platform, I can't recall having ever shot one either.
So today I gathered a few rifles up, some newly aquired, some I had done things to and was curious.
Just picked up a DB10, pretty sweet. Ejected brass 10' @ 5:00, is that over-gassed? I plan to change furniture, muzzle device, trigger and could include an adjustable gas block.
Also just recently tried to put together a budget AR15; PSA lower $159, BCA upper $229, cheap bipod & scope, then added lipstick with FAB furniture. All in slightly over $500 as shown.
Question about the BCA side charging upper. After 7 rounds I couldn't clear the chamber so I removed the mag and fired the last round. Function was smooth with empties 5' in the 3:30 range. After weapon was cleared I rested the charging handle on the side of my rest and slightly bumped the but to clear the bolt from the barrel extension. I separated the upper and it was tight going back in, to where I had to assist & then pretty snug coming out again.
So brand new, very lightly oiled, only 8 rounds of Barnaul steel fired. Could this be a headspace issue, should I reach out to BCA? Or is there something else I need to address, maybe shoot it more to break it in??
I included a pic of my H&R 16" 308, its a BIG BOOM stick! Changed the MB to a Troy claymore, it helped but still loud as hell, I love the ugly little bastard!
