i got the message this morning. "north west florida watermanagement district is conducting a prescribed burn in the garcon point area north of garcon point bridge".

a few minutes later i got this message "wind advisory has been issued for winds 30 to 45 knots"

and now they are evacuating dickerson city houses because it got away from them.

Everyone calling in on the radio complaining and with concern. I'd imagine officials phones are lit up like the fire. Pretty stupid to do so. They even met on site and 9am and said yep, let's do it.

NWFWMD don't watch the weather, and I saw that advisory LAST NIGHT. They protect water resources. Screw your houses! And I bet they don't have to post any bond for their work.

My wife got passed on I-10 by a forest service truck with sirens and lights. She said: "who knew they had sirens"?

Only the government is dumb enough to do something like that. You shouldn't need an advisory. Look around at the trees bent over.

The only explanation is that it wasn't an accident. The fix is in. The fire was set to be "out of control". I refuse to believe that grown adults in that profession are that incompetent. The fire was meant to be spread far and wide. Now the question is... why? What do they want to burn down? What is in the way of this supposedly out of control fire? Try 2 years ago the same thing, 14 homes 19 total buildings burned by a contractor controled burn. No one was held liable due to a loop hole some where in the law. It was on the news this am to not even use a charcole grill due to the fire danger. this crap has got way beond stupid and yet again no one will get in trouble for it. I went down just before dark and counted 14 dozers and there was 3 choppers at the Mores,the old golf course. If I would have burned leaves today I would most likely have been locked up.
