I heard somewhere a while back that the Russian Dragunov mechanically has more in common with the SKS than the AK, something about the gas system and the barrel lock up and trigger/safety internals, so not necessarily the looks or receiver. I know from having the SKS side by side with the heavier caliber FN49 that they're almost identical, and it has me wondering if the Russians hadn't tried to copy/accurize the FN instead of the SKS? Who knows? I can tell you that the Romanian PSL I had was like $4,000 cheaper than a Russian Dragunov and shot sub MOA, tho, and the PSL was a dead ringer for a semiautomatic AK internally

FOUND IN THE FOREST A WWII TANK WITH FULL AMMUNITION
A tank seems to have been lost in swamp during WWII was recovered in 2011 in Russia. Full load of ammunition. It was a smaller 2 man tank with only a 46 mm gun and other armament.
Not the first Russian to get so pissed on vodka he couldn't remember where he parked.

No way would I pay 4+K for a Dragunov unless I was a collector of such. There are better rifles for a lot less.

I do want a 762X54R but I was thinking more of a military surplus that Classic firearms had recently for sale @ $279.

    I love Military surplus guns.

Wow, thank you for posting this, I never knew there was a tank that small, that thing is so cute!

    Like a baby tank..:)

Ideal really to store all your ammo in at a time like this.

A revelation about the female mind:

Because of the ammo shortage, I got excited and put my own interpretation to the title by thinking that * a big military tank was found in America with lots of bullets.*
Then my husband brought me out of my estrogen flooded brain by saying: "this could have not been in America because there has been no military actions here since the civil war."

He meant battles and the Continental United States. It was a quick conversation having to do with might a buried tank be found in the United States from an old battle. On asking him, outlying islands of a territory (Alaska was not yet a state) were not what he meant by "United States." Nor Guam or anything like that.

    Very neat!
I had never seen one before.
I guess when wanting to do a military display/show of power, this is not the type of tank countries want to parade.
Tank have always come in diverse sizes. Here is a 'cute' little one from WWI.

Remember the movie 'The last crusade'. Well some of those tanks volume wise were big, even if their armor was not super heavy.
