More than ready for football to start! For the past few years I've been working during the games except for maybe a handful. This, hopefully, will be the year that I can relax and enjoy all the upcoming games. In fact I'll be at the first Auburn game. I did my undergrad there and my wife did her undergrad at GA Southern. Should be a good game to start off the season! War Damn Eagle!!!

How did the last time Auburn played FSU work out for you - I was there next to the Aubies and the cheers and jeers from that crowd turned to tears by the end of the 4th qtr...lol

What I like best is that the range in empty on game day. Yeah foot ball go team go. I've watched many games with friends , but I don't think I've ever watched one alone. I guess I just like getting together with friends and the game is just a excuse to do so.

I watched last year's games on my DVR almost all day yesterday. Our first game isn't until Labor Day, which is going to feel odd.

That's the good thing about sports - games are played and won or lost on the field - at the end of the day it's either a W or L and nothing else matters.

That's the sad thing about a lot of Alabama fans, despite getting beat instead of giving credit to the team that beat them they lament how the better team was sent packing which is BS! I don't mind Alabama but sometimes the fans can be a little out of touch with reality! The better team that day one, move on!

If you've never lived in amabalA as a non-bammer, you have no idea how much those poor folks count on the football team to make them feel like a winner. bammers are a sad bunch.

Fair point, but Alabama could have won that game with their second string qb. Clemson would not have had a prayer without that boy they had running around. He was so quick he even got a couple fumbles back. All respect to Clemson they won. I don't think they would win 2 out of 3 though

I hunted in Conecuh County for 15 years, hung out at Choomolly's bar outside of Georgiana just off the interstate more than I care to admit! I'm pretty sure I have a pretty good idea LOL! Even been at Choomolly's after the Iron Bowl and it's a party for the fans of the team that one and like a funeral for the fans of the losing team!

Would have, could have: didn't happen. Thats why its a game. Don't confuse attempts with results, the final score never does.
Watson played a helluva game last year, and was by far the best player in college football last year. We knocked the shit out of him and he just kept on ticking. So good for him, Clemson was the better team.

I just didn't realize how many Clemson fans were on this forum. Cuz surely not this many people would be talking trash while not even mentioning who they pull for and how their team finished. Ashamed??

I never said I supported Clemson, grew up in Minnesota so Minnesota is my #1 college team, not much of a football program there but hey it's still my home state. I moved to Florida in 92 and chose Florida State as my Florida team based on the simple fact it was a 2.5 hour drive to watch their games. FSU has been far the better team between the two but I support both equally. FSU should have a top 5 team this year but time will tell. Minnesota has a new coach again so who knows how good they'll be. They'll never play each other but if they did somehow I'd pull for Minnesota, they haven't won many big games lately. They were winning national championships before I was born but none since!

I am also a FSU fan, went to the Natty where we were slow to figure out they new our signals and almost lost to Auburn. Ashamed - only of the way Bowden was handled at the end of his career. I like that Jimbo is adding great OOC competition - playing cupcakes doesn't help and can really hurt - like when we lost Derwin James during Charleston game last year. I hope we are ready to play Bama on Sept 3 - our success will really depend on whether our O line can give Francois time to throw and open holes for our RBs.

Like Viking I have a lot of respect for Bama and Saban but it does get old hearing how great the SEC is even in the down years - like last year when the ACC went 10 - 4 against the SEC. Clemson beat Auburn, SC and Alabama, FSU beat Ole Miss and Florida, Georgia Tech beat Vandy, Georgia and Ky, NC state beat Vandy and VT beat Arkansas.

This is a new year and I expect that some teams that have been down will show significant improvement - Georgia, Florida, Miami, Pitt, come to mind but like I said earlier - games are won and lost on the field and in the end they are just games - lots of financial impact to the schools in question but at the end of the day they are just a source of entertainment for me - FSU wins or losses have no economic or quality of life impact on me so RTPRTHD let's hope our show down on Sept 3 is a great game and all players for both teams finish without significant injury. Go Noles!

I applied for my trash talking permit in Post #218, guess you missed it. 10 - 3 in 2016. I'm not a Clemson fan, just a fan of college football.
Bama as a Team lacks fundamental sportsmanship and often plays dirty, seldom called for it. I think its great bama fans are dedicated to their team but they generally display a shitty attitude that everybody else sucks (even when bama loses). It is that attitude which produces Bama Haters who are not necessarily fans of bama's opposing teams: they just want bama to lose. Seems Bama fans and haters are a bit more restrained on GCGF.

I can't wait for that game!! I won't be talking crap about FSU before hand. And I can promise my wallet will stay closed on it. . Got a friend who lives not far from the new stadium in Atlanta. Wanted to go so badly, but the cheapest tickets are $500 last I looked. So instead I'll be in Navarre that weekend and will probably watch it at the condo.
