My brother said they were eager to help him after he scattered a bunk all over the aisle
That was out west in Phoenix
I personally refuse to do business with Lowes

Yeah, next time I'm going to call around to a couple of local lumber companies, Gatlin in FWB and then Navarre Lumber and check prices and go with the lower of the two. I imagine I'll get better service from local guys and most likely better lumber. Sifting through 12' long 2x12's and then loading 4 on the cart and then onto my trailer by myself was not fun. I guess I could have stopped and asked for help but I was pretty pissed that several associates walked by without one of them offering to help.

It's usually a little higher but it's grade 1 vs at lowes its usually is a grade 2 or even 3. Whenever building a boat it requires lumber free of knots, splits, and not warped. But it's difficult to build anything with a knotted up warped 2x4, even a wall stud. Plus like you stated, the employees simply walking past me sets me into a mood that I'll just take my money elsewhere.

The owner of Navarre Lumber is good people. I know him and his son.

My dealings with Lowe's and Home Depot - - -> On the way in the door . . before I even get to the lumber isles . . I say to them . . any of them . . male, female, first employee that I see . . "can someone please help me with lumber" ??
I don"t even search around to find a heavy assed, rolls like shit, wheeled cart.
As the employee takes out the lumber,I "OK" it or reject it.
I do the same thing when getting multiple bags of soil, fertilizer, lime,or landscape bricks/stones. They roll it out and load it in my truck for me also.
CAUTION : There are quite a few items that Home Depot will not give a military discount of 10% on. This includes lumber. Lowe's gives me a 10% military discount on everything in the store. I make sure to verbally thank the person at the checkout for this discount. ---- SAWMAN

I tell them to help, call a manager and they load or I don't buy there, their choice, I pull the OLD GUY card!

Hell yeah. This old man doesn't hesitate to snag one of them to load a cart. I check out at the supposed contractor's entrance and have the cashier call someone to help load my vehicle too.

I mostly use Lowe's because of the military discounts.

Yeah I still have a ways to go to be able to play the old man card though I feel like one today LOL! At 6'4" tall and 250 lbs I guess they don't see me as needing help but in future if I do go to Lowe's I will ask before I attempt to load anything heavy. I prefer Lowe's for the military discount also, saved me $25 yesterday. I loaded 4 - 12' 2 x 12's, 5 - 8' 4x4's and 5 cinder blocks and again not one person offered to help and several walked by me, I should have said something, next time I will!

THESE ARE ENTRIES TO A WASHINGTON POST COMPETITION ASKING FOR A TWO-LINE RHYME
WITH THE MOST ROMANTIC FIRST LINE, AND THE LEAST ROMANTIC SECOND LINE:
    1. My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife:
Marrying you has screwed up my life.
    2. I see your face when I am dreaming.
That's why I always wake up screaming.
    3. Kind, intelligent, loving and hot;
This describes everything you are not.
    4. Love may be beautiful, love may be bliss,
But I only slept with you 'cause I was pissed.
    5. I thought that I could love no other
-- that is until I met your brother.
    6. Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you.
But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's
empty and so is your head.
    7. I want to feel your sweet embrace;
But don't take that paper bag off your face.
    8. I love your smile, your face, and your eyes
Damn, I'm good at telling lies!
    9. My love, you take my breath away.
What have you stepped in to smell this way?
    10. My feelings for you no words can tell,
Except for maybe 'Go to hell.'
    11. What inspired this amorous rhyme?
Two parts vodka, one part lime.
    WHO SAID POETRY IS BORING

Not boycotting the NFL, Wednesdays or Thursdays are great nights for class, even Tuesday would be better. Whether football is on or not I'd never want to be in class over the weekend, plenty of other things to do like Hunt, Fish, etc!
