This rifle is no longer for sale sorry guys, going back in the safe. I just acquired this rifle so I did not know a lot about it but after doing some more research it turns out it is a 760C (carbine) with an 18.5” barrel, very rare.

It does have the right fore end for a 760 carbine. It will also say 760 Carbine on it. 30-06 is the most prevalent, but it was made in other calibers as well. Some have a 10 round mag. The 740 mags had a lever at the bottom to pull the follower down but the pump mags did not have this.

Wow only 7 pounds, too, on a box mag fed 30-06. I found a cool Remington ad that says that this rifle was the "only" carbine chambering modern high power cartridges... but what about Winchester and the 1895 lever action in 30-06 and also the Krag and 03 Springfields? Maybe they meant "only one in current production" ?
