Picked up a Winchester 1890 second model in .22 short with a good bore, no serious rust, and has some of the receiver case-hardening remaining. Previous owner had lost the original takedown screw and had replaced it with a machine screw and nut: I have an original takedown screw but can't use it because the original threads in the receiver have been ALMOST destroyed. Any ideas on repairing the threads (short of sending it to Turnbull for refurbishing)?
