Not that they are expensive, but considerably more pricey than they were a few years ago.
I have a C & R but haven't paid attention in a while. having children and what not, busy at work etc....
Every once in a while I would pick one up for a hundred or less, just to tinker with, and refinish the stock.
Did I miss something? These were 89.95 on J&G a few years back, now they go for $279? What gives?
Sorry if this has been discussed recently. I haven't been on in a while.
Thanks in advance for reading my short story.:D

Yeah I hear ya. Same goes with the 98k Russian captures and a bunch of formerly inexpensive surplus guns. Wish I would have had more to invest in 07 when all was cheap, but I was too young and figured they would be there forever

They are going up for sure. The 91/30 is going on average of $250 to $275. If your wanting a carbine M44 or M38 you looking at $350 to $400!

Wow m38s are in the 300 bracket? That's why I'm always on the lookout for combloc imports or police turn ins. I like shotable examples not safe queens anyway. I think the same can be said for old surplus ammo too. I bought a crate of 7.62x54r years ago for $70 at a gun show. Saw some on Armslist for almost 3 times as much

I wish I had bought a crate when I first got my c and r. Makes me sick to my stomach. Guess I should buy a crate of sks, before they hit $800 could you imagine? Lol

Yeah true. Those things used to be very cheap too. Going rate is in the 400 mark give or take a few depending on mfg. I missed out on the cheap K31s and Mas49s too. Wish I would have got one of them and a Hakim. SVT40s have sky rocketed in the last couple of years too. Only thing stable is anything modern or current production. I keep hunting for a Sterling mk4 carbine that were offered a few years back.
Where are they selling crates of SKS? Yugos I'm guessing?
