Finished 30 cal and 303 cal for the casting season. Ended up with one 30 cal ammo can of 30 cal casted and two 30 cal ammo cans of 303 casted. Drained the melting pot of Lyman #2 alloy, refilled it with 20/1 lead/tin alloy and started casting 44 cal gas check bullets.

Earlier I’d gotten a bazillion aluminum 44 cal gas checks from boogan1 at a “good buddy” price. I’ve never used aluminum gas checks, but people report they work as well as the copper ones, so I’ll find out.

Picked up a laser genetics nd3. Old school "NV". What this is a focused laser ( in the 40 watt range :) ) you can adjust the size of the beam at x range. It lights up the scope. Cross hairs. This is better for use with a 30,40mm bell. This one is 20mm. Just a test. Hard to get a pix thru the scope. You can just barley see the cross hairs. You can also dial it down for a large laser sight, pointer. I also have the pistol version. It works. With an open red dot 1x or 2.5 x would be good for HD. On critters with reflected eyes you probably could make a 100 yard shot.

This is unrelated to any of these posts...sorry. Someone talked about using a product called Nu Metal ( or something like that name ??)...to clean / shine their guns...restore back to original condition. Anyone remember that...maybe a wkk , 10 days ago ?? Lost that post and would like to see it again...maybe try it out ??
    Appreciate the help...tj

Took the new Hellcat OSP to the range yesterday after putting on a cheap reflex sight and shot a variety of rounds through it just to see if there were any it didn't particularly like. Everything went through smooth as silk. Purchasing this pistol from Locked&Loaded was one of my better moves. They advertised it for $422, then you add shipping, like $20, and my FFL at Gun Ho charges I think $35, usually I use ABC Pawn in Long Beach, they are the cheapest I know of here along the coast of MS. Anyway for under $500 this is what I got. A nice range bag, 5 magazines ( one 11 round, two 13 round and two 15 round). It was fun to shoot and pretty accurate with just an adjustment or two on the dot. I'm going in for another rotator cup surgery on Apr 11 so I decided to shoot off-hand one handed, it wasn't pretty but I managed, I think I'll put the FN502 alongside the bed after surgery instead of the 9mm for the next few months after surgery.

Had a dream that my 3 day “cool down period” was over, so I could pick up my 22/45 tactical I payed for Wednesday…

Took an Anschutz 54, Rem. 40x and a 1933 Mauser .22 up north of Evergreen and spent a half day shooting the .22s. 40x shoots great, Annie shot a little behind it, but the surprise was the Mauser. Didn’t shoot as well as the other two but showed it isn’t a slouch. Targets were shot by the Mauser. All shooting was at 50 yards. Fine day

Range day today. I had repaired my Glock Trigger and it worked well in testing.. Though my RMR needed a bit of fine tuning which I did while there. All in all a good day. Also waiting on my Cans to pass the ATF period. The process really is the punishment.
