Currently forecast to land pretty close to home and we all know by now the initial 5 day forecast never nails it perfectly! We don't have a lot of time to prepare for this one either so hopefully the preparations everyone made for Irma are mostly still in place.

I think plans for this weekend could definitely change based on where exactly this thing makes landfall. This weekend is supposed to be the Sea Food Festival in Destin, probably not going to happen now.

Lot of warm water it has to cross so it could be bad for wherever it hits
Keep an eye out for it

I ate a couple of packs out of the case of peanut butter crackers I bought. Otherwise I haven't disturbed my stores.

Right now it's forecast to be a Cat. 1 but they are saying it could undergo rapid intensification

Wish somebody knew how to use all the sophisticated weather instruments and computers they have and learn how to interpret it. Just this morning they said there was no chance of it forming into anything but a rainmaker due to the upper shear winds would rip it up.

Right now I'm in Tennessee, setting in my RV and looking at the beautiful Smokey Mountains. I just might stay up here for another week. Worst that can happen here is just some gloomy, soggy weather. :mmph:

Lowe's and Home Depot will be out with the "official" track and prediction tomorrow.
    Of course . . . . along with their "sale". --- SAWMAN

I don't think they counted on it move so slow. Looks like by the time it hits the Gulf the shear will have relaxed and with the deep warm waters in the Gulf anything can happen, we just have to watch and get ready best we can.

Latest forecast has moved left a bit, earlier looked like landfall around Apalachicola, now it looks like between Destin and Panama City Beach. I'm not going to enjoy trying to get everything off the floor of my garage between now and Sunday damn it. Garage sits at 5' above sea level and floods pretty easily if we take a direct hit by a hurricane Cat 2 or above I'm guessing. Dennis in 2005 put 20" of water in my garage, luckily we had just moved in and I had nothing in there yet!
